A Womb of their own

Separating Gender from Genitalia
"...This beautifully sensitive and informative film was just what I had hoped for.... I cannot recommend highly enough the value of this film and Cyn Lubow's visit."  --David A. Powell, PhD, Professor Emeritus of French, Founder and Former Director, LGBTQ Studies Program, Hofstra University
When six diverse masculine-identified people get pregnant, they are challenged by binary gender constructs in mainstream culture, and even in the LGBTQ community. Follow their radical, joyful stories of establishing their own unique gender and sexuality, growing a baby in their bodies, and birthing, chestfeeding and parenting their children.

You can also bring the film's Director, Cyn Lubow, to your screening. As a gender-complicated birth parent, one of the subjects of the film and a psychotherapist, Cyn facilitates analysis, insight and personal experiences on many topics raised by the film, including gender diversity, conflicts and different needs between the L, G, B, T and Q communities, cisgenderism, challenges in the health care system and interactions between gender identity, sexual preference, race, class, body diversity, age, power, and justice.

To schedule a screening, fill out a Screenings/Contact form.
Or go to the Purchase  page to buy a DVD for your college or university.

“A rich, multilayered celebration of bold gender transgression at the intersection of an experience that is considered highly female-gendered, and is the ultimate expression of human strength and power.” --Willy Wilkinson, MPH,
Author of Born on the Edge of Race and Gender: A Voice for Cultural Competency

"Cyn Lubow's A Womb of Their Own did something for my class that three textbooks and an entire course pack couldn't...." --Leila Easa, Women's Studies, City College of San Francisco
